Numerical analysis of working performance of pile group embedded in soft soil subjected to coal loading


Abstract:
In order to study the mechanical characteristics of pile group foundation in soft soil site with coal loading, we establish the two-dimensional numerical analysis model considering pile-soil interaction for the pile group-soft soil ground system based on finite element numerical platform ABAQUS. We discuss the mechanism of internal force and deformation of interaction system of pile group in soft soil site. The results show that the pile body of pile group foundation is liable to produce large lateral displacement under the joint action of coal-piling load and superstructure load in soft soil site, and the pile body will produce large tensile stress, which makes the stability, deformation and bearing capacity of pile body unable to meet engineering requirements. For coal loading on this kind of soft soil ground, the vacuum preloading foundation treatment measures should be taken on the site, meanwhile the calculation and verification should be carried out to make the pile group-soft ground interaction system meet the bearing deformation requirements.
