Optimization Design of Suction Box and Discharge Passage of the Datao First Pump Station


Abstract:
Computational fluid dynamics was adopted to simulate the preliminary design and optimal design of the pumping system, and predict the energy performance of the Datao 1st Pumping Station.With the given water level data and within the limitations of civil construction dimensions,the design of suction box and discharge passage of the pumping system was optimized.Optimal hydraulic design of the pumping system has effectively improved the flow conditions of pump,decreased the hydraulic losses of suction box and discharge passage,and enhanced the efficiency of the pumping system.The validity of numerical optimal method was verified by the pumping system model test,which suggested that the method could be applied to the optimization design of the pumping systems.
