Flood Response to Land-use and Land-cover Change of Xixi Basin

Taking the Xixi basin as a case,this study applied rainfall-runoff model HEC-HMS to analyze the influence of land-use and land-cover change on the storm-runoff from 1985 to 2006.The results indicate that the simulated flow agrees well with the observed flow at the Anxi station and the HEC-HMS model is suitable for the study area.From 1985 to 2006,garden land and built-up land massively increased,which led to increase in peak discharge and total runoff.Moreover,remarkable spatial variations of the land use changes and its impacts can be observed at the subbasin level,and Yiduxi-shuangxi subbasin is the most sensitive area in the five subbasins.
